Most of what makes someone good at their job happens in the moment. The question you didn't prepare for. The colleague who goes quiet. The deadline that needs an idea by Thursday. You can read about these moments. You get better at them by practising.
Improv for Work gives you that practice. You pick one skill and work on it for four weeks, two hours a week, in a room with other people. Between sessions you try it at work, and you bring back what happened.
For your manager
When you finish the four weeks, you receive a certificate confirming that you have completed a 4-week training, built on the methodology IMPROV Communication uses with leaders and teams at BASF, Novo Nordisk, Maersk, Allianz and Beiersdorf. Add it to your CV or LinkedIn profile, or hand it to your manager.
Many workplaces set aside a budget for professional development, and these classes fit it. If your company is VAT-registered, we will send you a payment link so you can get reimbursed.

Subject: Professional development: 4-week class at ICC
Hi [name],
I'd like to take a 4-week class at ICC called [class name]. It runs for two hours a week from [start date] and ends with a certificate.
The content comes from IMPROV Communication, who run trainings for teams at BASF, Amazon, Novo Nordisk, Maersk and many other businesses in Denmark. I think it would help me with [one thing from your work, such as presenting to clients].
The price is [price] DKK including VAT. Could it come out of our development budget?
I'll take the class in my spare time. I see it as a good investment in my professional development, and it will benefit my work in the team.
Thanks,
[your name]
Four classes, each on one skill. Every one runs for four weeks, two hours a week.

Present, pitch and speak in meetings without hiding behind a script.
Useful if you
know the answer and stay quiet, or dread the next presentation.
You leave with
the habit of speaking up earlier, calm ways to recover when something goes wrong, and a short talk about your own work.
The four weeks

Read the room, and choose how you respond instead of reacting.
Useful if you
manage people, work with clients, or sit in a busy team.
You leave with
earlier awareness of your own reactions and a simple way to pause before you answer under pressure.
The four weeks

Build a team where people say what they really think.
Useful if you
lead a team or a project, or have watched a good meeting go quiet.
You leave with
practical ways to open up a quiet meeting and one team agreement to bring back to work.
The four weeks

Come up with good ideas when the deadline is tomorrow.
Useful if you
need ideas on demand, in product, marketing, consulting or your own business.
You leave with
more ideas, faster, and a clear way to choose between them.
The four weeks
You learn by doing. Each session is built around interactive exercises in pairs and small groups, where you practise how you listen, respond and work with other people. You get a few minutes on the thinking behind each exercise, and then you try it again. There's no performance and no audience. Everything happens in the room with your group.
It's the same fun and supportive learning environment you know from our other classes at ICC, without the pressure to perform or be funny. And you build the same life skills.
The content comes from IMPROV Communication, ICC's sister company, which runs trainings on psychological safety and emotional intelligence for organisations across Europe. These classes give you the same methods as an individual, with people from other workplaces.
Every session ends with one small thing to try at work before the next week.
The launch price is our thank-you for your feedback after the class.

These classes build on Part 1 of our Fundamentals. If you haven't taken it yet, start with a Free Intro to Improv, then join Fundamentals 1. Plenty of workplaces have paid for our Fundamentals classes too, so the same note to your manager works for them.
No. There's no show and no audience. You work with your group in the room, and that's it.
A colleague who has practised one specific skill for four weeks and tried it at work between sessions. The certificate names the class and the methodology behind it.
