What will I learn?
In Improv Level 1B, you start learning techniques such as using imaginary objects (we never use props on stage!), making intelligent connections, how to develop characters and how to start and build a scene from nothing.
What will I do in this class?
You will do a range of fun exercises that focus on using your first instinct, coming up with creative ideas, and working as part of a team. You will also continue supporting each other and building on each other’s ideas to create unique comic moments.
Who can take this class?
Level 1B is only available as a continuation of the Level 1A course and therefore has the same age requirements (minimum 18 years).
How long is this class?
Level 1B is a 6-week course with each session lasting 3 hours.
What do I need to bring?
All you need to bring with you is clothing that you can move easily in, and notepad and pen to take down the knowledgeable gems of your teacher, and an open mind.
Will there be a performance?
As this is the culmination of the Level 1 course (L1A and L1B), there will be a performance at the end of the course. But it will be only to an invited audience of fellow improvisers and your family and friends – so no need to stress!
Why is this class important?
After completing Level 1B, you will have a basic foundation of Improv technique which will prepare you for Levels 2 through to 5. You will be more confident in your creative and expressive abilities, and you will also have found a group of close friends who you will want to hang out with (we guarantee it!)
