Confidence, Commitment and Character – Level 4 Course

Finding the comedy in both long-form and short-form scenes is about working closely as a team and trusting each other to go wherever the comedy takes you. Key to being able to do this is having confidence in yourself and your ideas, as well as being able to communicate those ideas through strong defined characters. You also need to be able to build on your teammates’ ideas and offers, as well as being ready to support at all times. All good stories are reliant on strong characters, and in this course we will focus on giving you the tools and confidence to create strong comedic characters that will elevate your scenes in whatever style of improv you are doing.

You’ll learn:

• to instantly make choices that inform your character in scenes
• how to commit to choices and emotions
• how to turn mundane everyday life observations into comedy 
• to gain more confidence at playing and hosting short form games
• how to turn your own experiences into short monologues and comedic scenes

All our standard courses run for 8 weeks with 1 class/week lasting 2 hours. Classes are either in the evening on weekdays or during the day on weekends.

Included in the Confidence, Commitment and Character course are the following:
