You simply do not want to miss this evening where we start out with “The Lusty Mannequins” (CAN) showing you their extraordinary hilarious improv comedy skills from Canada. Then we travel over the pond to UK where “Do Not Adjust Your Stage” is from, they will show you just why they are among the best improv comedy groups in the UK. After the intermission “The Maydays” takes you on a ride into their uniques universe, where they will create award-winning comedy and songs on the spot. Closing the night will be “Those Who Can” (US) which is international top-shelf improvisers taking you for a hilarious ride. Come give a suggestion and put your mark on what WILL be a hilarious evening.
The Lusty Mannequins (CAN) These four are alumni of the Second City Mainstage in Toronto, combining for over 60 years of comedy experience. They tour the world promoting and performing comedy. What’s their style? Think Robertson Davies throwing a cocktail party and Helena Bonham Carter, Kristen Wiig and Mr. Bean showing up. They infuse their unique comedy with a strong dose of intellectual humor.
Do Not Adjust Your Stage (UK) The emphasis is on fun, with a playful energy and group scenes pivotal to performances, underpinned by scenes rooted in character and relationships. The group have performed internationally at the Del Close Marathon, Barcelona’s BIG IF, Union Hall Brooklyn, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Sweden, Estonia, and Dublin, as the only improv act at the prestigious Machynlleth Comedy Festival.
The Maydays (UK) The Maydays are an award-winning improv theatre company who have an army of fans around the world with their exceptional talent for creating skin-prickling theatre from nothing. Now they are dazzling audiences with their hugely popular and deliciously dark Tim Burton inspired musical. Created from a single audience suggestion, The Maydays weave a playful tale, full of bone chilling black comedy and haunting songs, in this loose homage to the cult director’s gothic style, layered with influences from the Brothers Grimm. With a bespoke, improvised soundtrack for every show, this will be a truly creepy and fantastical experience.
Those Who Can (US) Simply, the best of the best. Craig Cackowski, Carla Cackowski, Amanda Blake Davis, Jaime Moyer, Brian Palermo and Jay Sukow have travelled the world teaching and performing at various theatres and festivals. Their TV and film credits are too numerous to mention. They have also taught and performed for decades at the top improv schools in the US, including The Second City, The Groundlings, iO, UCB and ComedySportz.
